PowerOptions Adds Laura Bartsch to Board
Expands Expertise with Nonprofit Sales and Marketing Leader in Advanced Energy
PowerOptions is pleased to announce the election of Laura Bartsch to its Board of Directors.
“I am delighted to welcome Laura Bartsch to the PowerOptions Board as we develop a wider range of offerings to meet our members’ increasing expectations and energy needs,” said Janet Gail Besser, PowerOptions Board Chair. “Laura has demonstrated success at achieving growth for organizations in revenue and capability. Her perspective will be very helpful as we move the organization forward.”
Bartsch is Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Advanced Energy Economy (AEE), a national association of businesses that are making the energy we use secure, clean, and affordable. AEE is working to accelerate the move to 100% clean energy and electrified transportation in the U.S. She has held a variety of senior leadership roles at the organization where she has been instrumental in revitalizing the corporate development team, establishing member engagement programs, and amplifying the voice of the 3.3 million advanced energy workers across the U.S.
“I’m excited to apply my experience with a membership-based non-profit to another important mission-driven organization, PowerOptions,” said Bartsch. “Non-profits and public entities in our region are looking for a clear path to reliable and affordable energy solutions, and I’m looking forward to working with the Board and leadership team in support of that mission.”
Trained as an architect, Bartsch has applied design-based problem solving to her work with non-profit, clean energy, and sustainable building organizations for the last 20 years. Her focus has been on strategy, development, communications, and connecting people to opportunities. She has experience with growing membership-based organizations and over the course of one year, tripled revenue from membership.
“PowerOptions is refining our direction to meet Members’ evolving needs over the next decade, and it requires new internal skills, strong partnerships, and creative approaches to the business model,” said PowerOptions CEO Heather Takle. “Laura will be an invaluable addition to the team as we execute on PowerOptions’ vision, leveraging her success at AEE and in her career as a seasoned strategic planner and marketer.”
Bartsch holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, and a MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
