Heather Takle is an industry veteran and leader in the advanced energy sector. She joined PowerOptions as CEO & President in January 2020. Throughout her career in the advanced energy sector, she has sought to help organizations develop and offer holistic energy solutions that help reduce energy costs while providing more sustainable and reliable energy. Working across strategic planning and operational roles, she has helped organizations, small to large, for-profit to government, build strategies for growth and execute for success. Her cross-cutting experience across the advanced energy sector includes cutting-edge technologies, including solar, energy storage, microgrids, other distributed generation, energy management systems, and demand management.
Most recently, Takle was CEO of 2ndPath Energy, a firm she started to serve companies in the advanced energy sector with strategy and development. As Vice President of Energy Services at Patriot Energy Group, she developed a portfolio of clean energy product offerings and also managed all of back office operations. Prior to Patriot, she guided strategic planning, new business development and led all merger and acquisitions as Director of Corporate Development at Ameresco. As a Principal Consultant at the Parthenon Group, Heather helped clients solve their toughest strategic problems using data-based analysis, including work in sustainability and renewable energy where she began her career in the sector.
A grateful veteran and consummate supporter of transitioning veterans to clean energy careers, Heather was selected as a Fellow for the Atlantic Council’s Veterans’ Advanced Energy Program. She served as a Captain and Logistics Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps where she deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom and supported the start-up of the Department of Homeland Security as the Anti-Terrorism Officer for Marine Corps Base Quantico. She earned a BS from Boston University, an MBA from Harvard Business School and completed the Climate Change and Energy Policy program at Harvard Kennedy School.
When not in the office, Heather enjoys a good bike ride with the family, eating Latin food, exploring the world through international travel, and serving those in extreme poverty around the world through her volunteer work.

Executive Vice President Meg Lusardi has over 25 years of experience in energy engineering and operations, including leadership positions in private-sector, nonprofit and public agency settings. Meg joined the PowerOptions team in 2015, bringing to the consortium’s highly successful business platform her deep understanding of the energy sector, firsthand experience with nonprofits, and track record leading on statewide energy issues. Meg oversees day-to-day operations, ensuring that PowerOptions remains responsive to customers’ evolving needs, while helping strategize growth to shape the nonprofit’s future.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, Meg worked for nearly a decade as a project manager at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. She spent 10 years at the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, advancing during that time from Analyst to Acting Commissioner. She was instrumental in the design of DOER’s Green Communities Division, a first in the nation program serving municipalities’ energy needs, and eventually led the program through a period of dramatic growth as its Director. Meg’s expertise with nonprofits stems from her work as Chief Operating Officer at Dorchester-based Project-Hope, an organization serving homeless and low-income families.
Meg lives in Jamaica Plain and in her free time tackles home improvement projects (sometimes successfully), creates care packages for her six godchildren, and avoids cooking by eating out with friends as much as possible. Meg’s PowerOptions colleagues have been known to find reasons to frequent her office so they can grab a piece of chocolate from her reliably filled candy jar. She’s not keeping track…
